    You will receive the pictured coin. You are Buying a 1805 Draped Bust Quarter, Heraldic Eagle Quarter graded AU58. Tompkins Die State 5/2. This coin retains significant mint luster through out, while silver-lilac and tangerine-gold toning combine for attractive eye appeal on this pleasing Choice AU example. The B-3 variety is the most-available of the five 1805 die pairs and it is always a favorite choice for date and type. The surfaces on this example are smooth with slight weakness (as usually present) on the field stars. Struck from a late stage of the dies.
    Heraldic Eagle (1804 - 1807
    )
    After the hiatus in the denomination’s production, the Philadelphia Mint began striking quarter dollars in 1804. The draped bust Liberty designed by Robert Scot was used on the obverse with stars reduced to 13. The reverse designed by newly hired John Reich was changed to feature a heraldic eagle drawn from the official seal. The eagle displayed wings spread with a shield and thirteen stars above. The denomination inscription was added. While not as rare as the smaller eagle type, the Heraldic Eagle Draped Bust coinage is scarce and remains popular among type collectors and quarter dollar enthusiasts.
