    Description

Up for sale is this authentic (as in not a reproduction but an actual period chart) of the  "The New Trainshed of the Philadelphia & Reading Terminal R.R. at Philadelphia, PA."  This was published by the Engineering News in their January 19,1893 issue. It is blank on back. Chas. Hart & Sons did the lithography. It is on medium weight paper. Please note that any red in the pictures are only digital and not on the original that you will receive.
It is interesting that 1893 was the same year of a big panic that lead to the collapse and eventual reorganization of the Reading Railroad. It was forced to reorganize under suspicion of being part of monopoly. Now the Reading Railroad is
    immortalized
    in the game of Monopoly!
The overall size of the chart is 14" x 20 1/2". The size of the central image inside of the black border is 12" by 18", leaving ample room to have this matted and frame so it will make a nice addition to your den. The chart will be shipped to you folded the same way it has been over the last 100 plus years.  Please note that the first two pictures are scans. My scanner is  not large enough to scan the entire chart, so I do it in two halves. The last pictures is a photograph of the entire chart. I am a terrible photographer but it gives you a look at the full picture. Also please note that sometimes it will show brown or black along the folds, that is shadow from the paper not laying perfectly flat, not actual discoloration of the paper.
    Please e-mail with any questions.
    Thanks,
    Kevin
