The campaign of the Drozdovites Yassy - Don, "The Drozdovsky campaign" (there was also the "Romanian campaign"), February 26 (March 11) - April 25 (May 8) 1918 - the transition of the First Separate Brigade of Russian Volunteers under the command of the General Staff of Colonel M.G. Drozdovsky from the Romanian front of the First World War to the Don to join the Volunteer Army of General L. G. Kornilov and jointly fight against Soviet power. The campaign became one of the most significant episodes in the history of the first stage of the White movement in the South of Russia - along with the "Ice Campaign", and was just as difficult.
With their battle near Rostov with the much superior forces of the Reds at the final stage of the campaign, the Drozdovites rendered great assistance to the Don Army, drawing on themselves large forces of the Reds from Novocherkassk. A few days later, the Drozdovites, having united with the insurgent Cossacks, occupied the capital of the Don Army.
As a result of the annexation of the Drozdovites, the Volunteer Army almost doubled in number, the material part was also significantly replenished, but most importantly, the arrival of the Drozdovskaya brigade to the main theater of the Civil War gave new strength to the anti-Bolshevik resistance of the South.
