    Description

The Central of Georgia Railway Company (CofGa) was the dominant railroad in Georgia for many decades, serving the major cities of Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Columbus and Macon; it also served many smaller cities and towns. The railroad extended into eastern Alabama and southern Tennessee. Like most regional lines, it has financial issues and was ultimately acquired by the Southern Railway System in the 1960s; its surviving trackage today is operated primarily by Norfolk Southern. For auction is a LOT of 5 cancelled checks issued by the CofGa for various items. They date from 1920, 1926, 1958 and 1984.
