This listing is for a vintage Cragstan GREAT ASTRONAUT ROBOT made in Japan in the 1960s by Daiya. Rare and desirable, the robot measures 15 inches tall with the antenna and made of tin with plastic dome and hands. The robot still works and looks great, but has several issues. Specifically, the dome has hairline cracks in the front and around the edges, but they are such that you don't see them well unless looking straight down at the toy. The battery box has surface rust and the tabs inside are misaligned. The toy turns ON immediately after installing batteries. Nice action--walks with swinging arms, kaleidoscope mouth, "machine sound," and lighted moving image in chest. The robot is unsteady on its feet, which is not uncommon and no doubt why the dome is cracked. You can see it in action by cutting and pasting the video URL below.
