9th Coast Artillery Officer's Saddle Cloth Insignia 1902 - 1922

Description

These saddle cloth insignia tended to be hefty to keep the saddle cloth weighted down.
This 1902 example is cast brass and finish in a dark bronze paint for use on the field saddle cloth.
The "9" (9th Coast Artillery company) appears to be iron, and painted (the iron changing the color of the paint slightly.
Original paint, with all the mounting loops.
The 9 was applied prior to paint finish being applied.
Some paint has chipped or worn, but overall 90% finish remains.
