Antique 1870s Pennsylvania Railroad Daily Report Car Record Coatesville Ledger
I'm pleased to offer this fascinating piece of Pennsylvania Railroad history. This Victorian ledger records the "numbers and destination of cars forwarded and received this day" at the Coatesville, PA station. The first date is some time in 1871. The last date is Dec. 12 1872. This ledger still exists because someone took it home to use as a scrap book in the 1890s.
97 pages of this ledger have been used for scrapbooking. It all appears to be poems and articles clipped from a local newspaper.
183 pages are completed ledger pages unobscured by newspaper clippings.
The bindings are in extremely poor condition and are falling apart.
