Please ask any questions before bidding and as early as possible. I don't do refunds as the items are clearly pictured.
I charge .75 in the USA for shipping which is what the materials and shipping actually cost me. I can combine shipping on multiple items and I can ship altogether for .75 but put items in your cart & then request an invoice at checkout BEFORE PAYING to combine shipping.
International shipping is either 18usd (airmail) and this covers my cost. (the US Postal Service has this crazy price, not me. Thanks!).

As collectors pass on, their collections get recycled and may come back to the market.  There have been many notable collections assembled over time and as information is easier to obtain and a wider resale market occurs because of the e-markets, we all have a chance to share in these. I have been fortunate enough to acquire many pieces from the noted collector,
    Joseph M. “JAY” Massaro
of Texas.  For a long time he wrote numerous insignia articles, helped collectors, attended shows, and authored a book on Army Air Force Distinctive Insignia. He also helped the collector club, ASMIC (American Society of Military Insignia Collectors) with his many articles in their publications.
    Massaro was a 2
    nd
generation West Point graduate who served in the military for 21 years as well. Starting as a child and with his fathers help, he collected insignia for 62 years. His collection was extensive but limited to Regular Army units.  He mounted the majority of his collection on large illustration boards of 450 pieces per board. There were more than 11,000 crests in the collection.  He passed away over 15 years ago and his collection was put on loan in 2009 to the Texas Military Forces Museum in Austin, Texas.  In late 2019, the Museum returned the collection to the family in order to use the space for other displays. The family decided to sell the collection once it was returned. Some branches were sold off in total and some were broken up to sell individually.
Since there are many people familiar with his book, his collection, hundreds of articles, and countless hours of assistance, I decided to go the extra length to make sure people would have a way to own a piece of the collection and to document it as such. Each piece from the collection is documented, front and back pictured, recorded and guaranteed to be a part of the collection in my files. The buyer will receive a color
    Certificate of Authenticity (COA)
    if desired (
    sample shown above
), showing the details and picture of the piece. The illustration board pieces are included with the sale of the DUI (many are not in great shape or exhibit writing or damage from being sold off). Smaller boards were also used for pieces that were obtained after the very large boards were created and account for even more variations of the unit insignia. Therefore there are two styles of board shown in my pictures and will be denoted as large (blue backing) or small board (white backing) pieces in the auction notes. There will be inexpensive pieces and there will be more costlier and unusual pieces.
Our hope is that in the future, more people will detail collections like this somehow and large notable collection pieces can exist far into the future for more collectors. Hopefully, it can even create a niche for some collectors to have at least one piece in their collection or to collect as many as they can. Many of the pieces may have been used in the articles that Massaro wrote, so you can watch for these against what I offer and, if successful, have further provenance of where the piece came from.  The buyer should also print out the auction page and keep for their records of sale and provenance.
