Your bid is for a B&M BULLETIN, Volume 30, Number 3, published by the B&MRRHS, INC. in 2017 with Andrew M. Wilson as editor. This issue measures 21.5 by 27.8 cm and contains the usual 40 pages. The front cover photo by Scott Whitney claims we see JS-4 at Claremont Jct. in 1979. I would say JS-2, as JS-4 would be in the dark passing here. WHITE FLAGS allows the editor to submit: “What to do about Keolis? –Pt.2”. And then goes on to discuss Springfield Union Station, PAR’s transition to GE power, and Amtrak. Four photos of the C-40-8’s and SUS are included. CONSISTS: FROM THE CAR BOOKS OF CONDUCTOR GEORGE W. COX, By COL (Ret.) Tom E. Thompson, features 13 pages concerning the various trains that carried Sunday newspapers from A House in East Cambridge to Portland ME, Troy NY, Concord and Portsmouth NH. This very comprehensive article details the operations and consists of Train No.1001 from Boston to Portland on Sunday, Sep.16, 1951, and Train No.1003 from Boston to Portland on Sunday, Nov.18, 1951. There are 15 photographs to be studied along with a page from the B&M North Station Track & Yard Book No.52. The Conn River: The Trunk of the Tree –3. THE CONN RIVER: COLORFUL RAILROADING by Scott Whitney continues on from the previous two BULLETINS on 12 pages, including the colorful, and quite unusual, rear cover, depicting an unlock box, a dwarf signal, and a switch machine at Claremont Jct. Too much of a good thing? Not in my opinion, but remember that I used to operate that switch machine. There are 4 color photos, with the centerfold being one, plus 14 B&W with two to a page. The Conn River: Branches of the Tree – NAME TRAINS TO THE WHITE MOUNTAINS by Thornton Waite describes the numerous trains that ran from New York City to Berlin or Bretton Woods-Fabyan in grand style from perhaps 1893 until 1956. The Day White Mountains, the North Wind and the Night White Mountains are the names most familiar to those still living. This article covers 10 pages and will leave you dreaming about a much more human way of traveling than the rat race on Interstate 91. This magazine is in unread, new-old-stock, nearly as-published condition.
