On the obverse is left side face of king Ferdinand I and inscription in cyrillic: FERDINAND I TSAR OF BULGARIANS, on the reverse a cyrillic inscription: FOR MERIT and a little star within a wreath of laurel and oak branches.The medal
is made of bronze
with diameter  27.30 mm, about (1" )
