Dome for Mechanized Robot (Robby) by Nomura

Description

This auction is for one reproduction dome to fit a vintage tin toy Mechanized Robot (Robby) made in Japan during the 1960's by Nomura. The dome is made from a mould taken from the original part. It has light wear and small scratches just like the original. These are too small to show in the photographs. Each piece is individually fitted and tested prior to sale. A screw to fit the dome to your robot is included.

Mechanized Robot
Dome. It has been carefully crafted using the best materials and proven techniques. Even the yellowing evident in the original dome has been accurately reproduced. IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DIFFERENTIATE FROM AN ORIGINAL DOME.
It is just like an original dome, unlike other copies particularly the Osaka Tin Toy Rosko Astronaut/Mechanized Robot Dome made in the early 1990's. The Osaka Tin Toy Dome is not an exact reproduction. It has the following differences;
It is clear and not yellowed with age
It is a wider and looser fit at the bottom front sides
Its front hinge tab is a different construction.
It also has a small 'v' shaped mark on each bottom front side (I have not shown these in the photographs).

Dome this item is exactly it. It is vastly superior to the Osaka dome.
THIS IS A VERY HIGH QUALITY REPRODUCTION PART WHICH WILL ADD ITS VALUE TO YOUR ROBOT. IT IS PERFECTLY CLEAR EVEN WITH THE YELLOWING AND NOT CLOUDY. ORIGINAL DOMES IN GOOD CONDITION ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND. THIS ITEM IS STRONGER AND LESS BRITTLE THAN THE ORIGINAL.
THE ONLY WAY TO DIFFERENTIATE IT FROM AN ORIGINAL DOME IS TO REMOVE IT FROM THE ROBOT AND PLACE IT NEXT TO AN ORIGINAL. EVEN THEN IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO IDENTIFY THE EXTREMELY MINOR DIFFERENCES. IT CAN EASILY PASS AS AN ORIGINAL.
