Description
This is a very nice example of a well made German Dagger for the South American Market which dates from the late 19th to early 20th Century. It is mounted with a blade that measures 7 inches in length by 7/8 of an inch at the widest which shows good honest wear with surface pitting scars, nevertheless does remain in good condition and continues to wear clear nice markings by the maker F. Herder Solingen on one side. The gorgeous horn hilt features a fabulous carved twisted design that is accentuated with silver twisted wire and crowned with an interesting small eagle head pommel. The healthy leather scabbard remains very nice as well and with all the stitching still tightly intact. Overall measuring 12 7/8 inches in length.
