This is a rare giclee print, shrinkwrapped and
mounted
on a single 8x10 inch backing mat (***note: the white margin and black line are part of the print and not a mat cutout and that **the side margins are slightly different)
, from an original black and white photographic copy that was hand colored by an artist of a Hawaiian Hula halau studio portrait from the 1890's. It comes with caption information and hula history on the back. It was printed with archival inks on Epson pro quality paper. Our prices are less than you would pay retail at a gallery and production costs are lower than most folks so we want to offer affordable quality art for people who might not otherwise be able to afford it. We can also print to larger sizes, please inquire.
Please note:
it is also a little grainy as it was copied on Velvia transparency film from an original hand colored black and white print print. It is still a very nice historic and artistic photo.

An 11x14 inch frame (or larger) with a custom cut mat from a frame shop or art store is the suggested way to display this photo.
Prints are permanently mounted to the acid free backing board using an archival photo adhesive and cannot be easily removed from the backing board without damaging the photo. If you want to use a larger frame and can't figure out how to do it with the photo mounted on the backing board, contact us and we can explain how it can be done. This is recommended for best visual and artistic impact in displaying this photo, although many people are happy using a standard 8x10 inch frame and displaying the image as is.
