    Description

    Hungary, Medal for Protecting Public Safety, 2nd class (Silver Grade), circa 1970s-80s.
    This is GUARANTEED ORIGINAL made and issued not later than in 1980s, before the collapse of the communist regime in the late 80s! Medallion is made in heavy metal (what appears to be “German Silver” or brass with silver finish) and red lacquer. It measures 36.2 mm in width. The large red faceted star is superimposed on a bronze wreath with Hungarian People's Republic coat of arms at the bottom. Comes on correct blue ribbon with diagonal red, white and green stripes. This medal is often referred to as Hungarian Police Medal.
    The medal is in GREAT condition. The lacquer has some tiny internal hairlines near the top and lower right tips of the star that are practically unnoticeable to the naked eye, otherwise perfect. The silver finish is pristine and bright. The ribbon is of the period, perfectly preserved and clean.
