    Description

This is a US Army 1902 Pattern Officer's Dress Frock Coat from the New York State Coastal Artillery and is for a Captain.
A Coastal Artillery insignia is on each sleeve cuff under the trefoil.
The uniform presents very well and is in overall very good to fine condition.
There is not any widespread insect damage and only two isolated areas of about 1" square noticed.
    I
have included them in the photos.
One is on the left rear lower tail and the other is under the right sleeve arm pit.
The bullion on the collar front corner is a bit loose.
On the interior, one arm lining needs a bit of re-tacking.
Otherwise the uniform is in quite decent condition.
The front is in excellent condition.
There is essentially no wear to the button holes as is shown in one photograph.
The two screw on attachment buttons for the shoulder straps are present and are the proper New York design.
Although I believe that the arm trefoil stripes are for a Captain, the interior label indicates that the coat was made by Ridabock & Co, New York on Feb 18, 1909 for a Lt. William Gray.
All considered, this uniform is an excellent example of the 1902 Pattern Army Officer's Dress Uniform.
