    M1902 Canteen--RIA 1903
    Original US Army M1902 canteen, tin plated steel body with concave indention on back, pewter spout with blackened brass chain and ring, cork stopper with steel top and ring bolt, two triangular steel strap rings, and khaki canvas cover with wool lining beneath. Cover is well marked U.S. and dated R.I.A. 1903 at bottom. The concave indention on back was the distinguishing feature of this model compared to earlier versions.
    Average fading to cover but no holes, fraying or other damage and is free of the unit markings, names, etc., commonly found on these. Strap hooks are rusty but undamaged. Some wear to edges of cork and steel top/ring bolt are rusty but undamaged. Slight dent to left side of spout lip which can easily be straightened. No dents or other damage. Canteen could be carried by means of a leather shoulder sling or the V-shaped web snap hook strap introduced in 1903 [neither strap is included]. Nice clean example of this model, great for any US canteen or eagle snap gear collection and is in very good condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
