, carrying thousands of travelers to and from the islands in a singular style that came to be known as Matson's "Grand Manner."
A favorite mode of travel for the stars of stage and screen, the Lurline was host to dozens of celebrities, including Mickey Rooney, Clark Gable, George Burns, and Shirley Temple. But everyone who boarded the Lurline was treated like royalty, luxuriating in the most lavish comforts, superb cuisine, and fabulous entertainment.
