Vintage Polar Bear Refrigerator Co. Wood Ice Box w/ Brass Tag U.S. Patent 1866.
This is a very cool vintage wood icebox with no interior liner. It makes for a beautiful storage box/home decor.
It has a brass name tag on the front that says it was made in Barbaraville, Illinois by Polar Bear Refrigerator Co. and was patented in 1866. The solid wood box features a black painted stage coach on the top, brass corner protectors on all four top corners and brass latches on the front. It also has black metal hinges on the back and rope handles on both sides. It has minor wear and tear expected from something this old, as it was probably made in the early 1900s.
The box measures 20 inches long, 15 inches tall and 11 inches deep. It weighs 14 pounds 6.6 ounces. Please examine all pictures for exact condition.
